ABOUT CHRISTIAN ROBBIE

Researcher. Writer. Architectural detective.

Christian Robbie is an architectural researcher, writer, and content creator based in Southern California. He is the founder of Architectural Detective, an independent digital platform dedicated to making architectural history engaging, accessible, and worth looking at twice.

Since launching the project in 2018, Christian has researched and shared the stories of historic houses, architects, design movements, books, neighborhoods, and the people responsible for shaping Southern California’s built environment.

His work brings together archival research, architectural observation, writing, photography, and digital storytelling. In addition to producing editorial content, Christian creates commissioned House Histories that document the architectural and social histories of individual properties.

Christian holds an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. His professional background in communications and education informs his ability to transform complex historical material into clear, inviting narratives for both specialist and general audiences.

His current work includes architectural research, house histories, editorial partnerships, book features, interviews, tours and cultural programming.
